About Sam
Winona has given Sam so much, and Sam gives back.
Sam is:

Compassionate: Sam is a leader who listens to all perspectives. She knows that life takes many twists and turns, she is eager to advocate for all of her fellow Winonans.

A Civil Servant: Sam has spent her entire career serving our community, primarily in nonprofit organizations.

Fiscally Responsible: Sam's led multiple organizations to financial success and is excited to do the same for Winona.

Hardworking: Sam doesn't shy away from hard work, she digs in. Whether it is planting 500 trees, or analyzing complex data sets, Sam is up to the task.

Dedicated to the Winona community: Sam has a track record of bringing together all types of Winonans. She knows that each perspective is an important a part of our collective story.
Sam came to Winona to study at Winona State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics and Spanish. She quickly fell in love with our beautiful river town.
She has gone on to work for Mid West Music Fest, her Alma Mater, Winona State, and consulted for various nonprofits around the area. She has extensive experience with budget management in a state system, operations management, administrative oversight, and process improvement. She is currently pursuing a master's in business administration to further strengthen her abilities.
She gives her free time to various outdoor recreation nonprofits; Recreation Alliance of Winona (RAW), Winona Area Mountain Bikers (WAMB), Earth & Arbor Day Winona, Prairie Island Adventure Club, and coaching Winona Youth Composite Mountain Bike Team.
Additionally she devotes her time to community building and placemaking initiatives like; The Common Good Collaborative, Equity 2030, The City of Winona Fine Arts Commission, and more.
Sam is the leader Winona deserves.
